The end of 2023 brought great change to DelMo. Some of the change I did not see coming, some I had a feeling was coming, and some I knew had to take place in order for us to ascend to the next level.
January is gone. We are officially 1/12 into the New Year. Who is still going strong with massive, radical change in their lives? Anyone? Statistics say about 10% are. The other 90% have been punched in the face by life, years of neglect, habit, and the most destructive word in the human condition: being comfortable.
The end of 2023 brought great change to DelMo. Some of the change I did not see coming, some I had a feeling was coming, and some I knew had to take place in order for us to ascend to the next level. In order to thrive in business and in life you need to become an excellent predictor and you can only do so by analyzing everything around you all the time by stringing together events and outcomes and using your beautiful mind to predict. There is no secret sauce. There is no formula. There is only this: The Gods will reward only those who have the courage to do what they believe is the right thing to do. Read that again, and again, and again.
Recently, a friend of mine and his wife called me up. They wanted to check in and see how things were going in life and in business. They are in the midst of creating change for themselves and love to chat about vision, goals, and the belief in making things happen. When asked about how I've "done what I done" for so long it's hard for me to put into words, however, recently I've come up with a perfect analogy.
When you go to the grocery store, there are carts in the parking lot or stored just outside the entrance. You have your list, you grab a cart. The list and the cart represent your goals and dreams. As you push your cart toward the doors, there is never a doubt those doors will slide open, but they will only do so when you get close enough to run into them; not at the bottom of the ramp, not halfway up, not 10 feet away. Only when it appears you are going to smash into the doors do they magically open. That is how you go after your dreams.
For what it's worth, I'm well versed in following my instincts regardless of what "they" say. My entire life has been one long uphill climb and I'm more than ok with it. For those of you who just pulled into the parking lot of goals and dreams. Get your list, grab yourself a cart, even surf your cart up to the store of dreams like you are 10 years old. DO NOT HESITATE TO BOLDLY WALK THROUGH THE DOORS OF your dreams.
Onto February.
