Here it is…2016 is officially “All About the Ladies” in the sport of triathlon.
Now, you can say this is a marketing scheme, a ploy to seem like we’re trying to be politically correct, to be as appealing as possible to as many people as possible so that we stand out…NOTHING COULD BE FURTHER THAN THE TRUTH! Why would we tag this year with such a bold statement? Why would we say something as strong as “All About The Ladies,” yet we don’t even produce a ladies race? Easy…in the state of New Jersey, no other event production company hosts as many women as DelMoSports. In fact, of all the IRONMAN 70.3 races around the globe, IRONMAN 70.3 Atlantic City is the #1 most participated race by women in THE ENTIRE WORLD! Yes…we’re talking about the planet Earth here….and ATLANTIC CITY, NJ IS #1. In addition, at each of DelMoSports’ three triathlons (Escape the Cape, Atlantic City Triathlon, and Tri the Wildwoods) the numbers of lady tri club members FAR out number the men tri club members….in a sport that is typically dominated by male participation.
Wait a minute DelMo….just hold on here….how is that possible? How does IMAC 70.3 become the #1 race for women in the world? I’ve got a theory on this and I think you’re going to like it. Here goes: The Women of NJ, NY and PA friggin’ ROCK…that’s why! Right here in the state of New Jersey, we have the largest all women’s triathlon club in the United States of America (#merica). Right here in the state of New Jersey we have one of the founding members of the Women For Tri Board who also happens to be the leader of an empowering all women’s multisport club. Now it’s time to get technical with the data, I have yet to turn down a hug request at a race…male or female…that has to account for something, right?
Seriously guys/gals, if you really want to know why, simply read a few testimonials from the leaders of some of our most influential clubs…that’s where we make the difference. Fellas, let’s admit, a woman can read us for who we are and dismiss what we’re ‘trying’ to be…we believe the ladies of triathlon see DelMoSports for what we truly are: a company that cares about women, their experience, their well being, and we will spare no expense making sure they have a blast and are safe while doing so.
“The Mullica Hill Women’s Triathlon Club is composed of very close to 800 women, teenagers and children and I would venture to guess that most of them have participated in a DelMo race over the past 7 years. The reason is simple. Steve Del Monte rolls out the red carpet from beginning to end. By beginning, I refer to registration, training opportunities and motivational videos. By end, I mean a safe beautiful course, amazing finisher medals and a post-race buffet better than most restaurants. The in-between, swim, bike , run– flawless ! Our girls flock to his races!
"In the past we would get hundreds to register for Escape the Cape and Tri the Widlwoods. They are still two of our favorites. This year we have a pep in our step and training plans in action! Over 110 women from the Mullica Hill Women’s Triathlon Club have signed up for IRONMAN 70.3 Atlantic City. There are several reasons we have done this. the IRONMAN brand for one, the fact it is local and long term goals. But the main reason I am doing it, and I speak for so many is because Steve Del Monte is the the race director and DelMoSports is behind this. We know it will be organized, safe and fun. We know he lives and breathes the sport of triathlon and most of all he wants us to succeed. He wants everyone to succeed and enjoy the moment (or six hours of the moment).
"The sport of triathlon is a journey. A journey of health, fitness, friendship and focus. We are very fortunate to live in South Jersey, the home of so many amazing clubs and to have races such as Escape the Cape, Tri the Wildwoods, Atlantic City Triathlon and IMAC 70.3 literally in our backyard. We look forward to the 2016 season and seeing so many of you out there in the water and on the streets! Let the training begin.”

“My absolute favorite triathlons in the mid-Atlantic area to race and to recommend are anything that DelMoSports is involved in. No other way to say it. Hands down, 100% best events around. Steve and his staff have to be one of the most responsive and supportive race directors around. "
"At a DelMoSports event I know I’m guaranteed a safe and secure event that is staffed by men and women who want to make sure their event is an enjoyable and safe experience for everyone out there, from the elite athlete to the first timer, from the first place finisher to the back of the pack. And this includes not just the actual race experience itself but everything along the way. DelMo Sports goes out of their way to make it a good experience, even trying to help athletes who may need to defer an entry, providing race day tents and private porta-johns (big hits, especially with the women!) and good food and fun at the post race events.
"As the founder of an all-women’s triathlon club with a Facebook group of close to 1,000 members and one of the founding members of the Women for Tri Board of Advisors I take very seriously the responsibility of what races I recommend and encourage women to participate in. Our groups span everything from newbies to the seasoned and serious triathlete. Our #1 Club events are always DelMo Sports races and that is no coincidence!”

“We participated in the DelMoSports Escape the Cape Triathlon 2015. We trained hard, arrived ready to tackle the challenge and truly had the time of our lives! The race was expertly organized and course well marked, we knew exactly where to go and when. From start to finish, it was a thrill to participate in the Escape the Cape Triathlon. Jumping off of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry into the Delaware Bay is a truly exhilarating and unique triathlon experience, one that we will forever be talking about. Escape the Cape was unforgettable in all the right ways!”

There are a few things I know for sure in this world…1.) I don’t know everything…2.)I know my wife is always right (99.99999% of the time)…3.) Always bail on my workout when my six year old little girl Lucy wants to go for a ride instead of watching me ride away. In my home as well as in my business…it’s all about the ladies.
Train smart and seek awesome,
