We all have a friend who remembers every detail of our childhood. They can tell you who did what, where you all were, and even the weather for that day. Yes, I hate them too.

I... was not one of those people. Unfortunately, I don't remember much... there are bits and pieces but overall I can't seem to remember. I even threw a no-hitter in high school and I couldn't tell you any details about it other than, we won the game (and I had 15k's).
BUT, I do remember some things and one of those was lesson in 6th Grade with Miss Martinelli. "Of all the things to remember, THIS is one of them?" I know, this is the STORY of my life.
First, Miss M. was the coolest teacher ever. I once asked her why her hand was all scratched up, she said, "Freak surfing accident at the rocks." BOOM, legendary status cemented!
We were reviewing "Dramatic Structure," The Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Denouement (Conclusion). She was explaining EVERY great story follows this structure... from classical plays to mega-blockbuster movies. I was fascinated by this structure and thought how cool it was, just like Miss M.
Fast forward 30 years... and it holds true to every great triathlon season. For many of you, especially in the Mid-Atlantic / North East Regions, we are in the Falling Action of our triathlon season. This is the time when YOU, the protagonist, enters the final scene (race), and you'll either WIN or LOSE, but you will achieve a FINAL OUTCOME. It must be noted that winning or losing has NOTHING to do with a personal best, or a podium finish, but has EVERYTHING to do with your attitude on a daily basis and your ability to stay focused and disciplined no matter what the day throws at you. YOU CONTROL THE ENDING (attitude).
