As we wrap up race season and head into fall, I can't help but feel an immense amount of gratitude. It was a very different August for a number of reasons.

Earlier in the month, we headed back to Atlantic City for the 15th Annual CRDA TRI AC and it was everything I always dreamed it would be. The weather was perfect, the athletes brought the energy and the crew was phenomenal. I couldn’t have asked for anything better, and the results showed. It was our largest event in Atlantic City since 2019 and our registration numbers immediately following the event are the strongest they’ve ever been. There is no doubt in my mind we will exceed our goals at TRI AC in 2026. Hard work works, but you have to be willing to be patient…and FOCUS.
I would be remiss if I did not mention a feeling I was NOT having while in Atlantic City. For the first time in over a decade, I did not have Tri the Wildwoods brewing in the distance. You see, for over a decade, while we were in Atlantic City in early August making everything as perfect as possible, there was work being done behind the scenes to create a world class beach triathlon a few weeks later. Not only that, but we would also be planning on being BACK in Atlantic City in early/mid September to produce Ironman 70.3 Atlantic City, and last year, USAT Age Group Nationals.
But not this year. And do you know what? I think that’s why TRI AC was as good as it was.
It’s never easy to admit when you cannot do something, but every true professional knows when they’re not executing to their standards. This was NOT the case with Tri the Widlwoods. We executed at the HIGHEST LEVEL in 2024 and that is what I wanted people and athletes to remember. I’ve always said, “ I never want someone to say, yeah WW is fun, but boy you should have seen it a few years ago…it was awesome..”
Nah. Not me. Never gonna happen. You’re only going to get the BEST from me and my team. Anything less is unacceptable.
As fate would have it, IF there was a Tri WW in 2025..it would have been cancelled due to Tropical Storm Erin, which would have been a first…and I couldn’t have been more grateful.
Much Respect to You All + GO BIRDS,
Delmo
