This year marks the 11th Annual Escape the Cape Triathlon. With the event quickly approaching, we'd like to recognize an athlete who joined us on the boat last year for the very first time, and is joining us again this year to TAKE THE LEAP! Everyone, meet Michael Veltri!
1. Tell us 3 things we should know about you.
A: 1.) Love racing, training and sharing my love for fitness with all.
2.) I have a 5 year old daughter, Kora who I run these for! Want to show her hard work and dedication.

2. What is your favorite workout song?
A: Drakes entire collection
3. Favorite pre-race ritual?
A: David Goggins Motivational Videos
4. What is your race mantra for 2024?
A: Losing is easy. Winning is hard.
5. What is your favorite memory from participating in ETC?
A: I have two! Jumping off the boat for the first time was a great adrenaline bump, and crossing the finish line 1 second above my best friend, Anthony Madle!
6. What is going through your head before you jump?
A: Don’t look down… (I looked down haha)
7. What is your favorite part about training for a race?
A: My favorite part is knowing all of this hard work will make the actual race fun!
8. What made you sign up for ETC again this year?
A: Love the camaraderie and the passion of everyone. Think it’s a very unique race that all athletes should complete at least once!
