Reality. I don't much like it sometimes, but it is what it is.

A few months ago, I had a major set back with my surgically repaired left knee. As many of you saw, I posted a video about my slip/fall in January. My knee has not been the same since. I'm not being negative, I'm stating fact, truth, reality. Although I am optimistic in my 100% Full Recovery, I am at the point where it is necessary to adjust my goals for this season, at least for the foreseeable future.
Enter... Aquabike Stage Left.
For those of you experiencing adversity and unforeseen circumstances when it comes to the 'normal' use of your body there is opportunity for us. You can still connect. You can conquer. You can SWIM and BIKE till you puke and Team DelMo will be there to put a medal around your neck because you earned it. It would have been so easy to stay home and feel sorry for yourself and play the "Why Me" game. But not you. You showed up. You showed up not 100% of you, but with everything you have to give everything you have and to become everything you can be. You're one of us. This is why the energy of a DelMoSports event is ABOVE and BEYOND anything else.
But... Check Yourself.
Let's get one thing straight when it comes to training and racing. NONE OF US ARE GOING TO THE OLYMPICS. This is fact, truth, reality. But EVERYONE OF US IS EVOLVING TO THE BEST PERSON WE CAN BE. This is why I do what I do. This is why I train. This is why I race. This is why I produce. This is why it is IMPERATIVE that I surround myself with likeminded, goal oriented, focused and determined individuals at least 10 weekends per year. I need you more than you need me. Many of you think I post daily DelMoTivation to get you fired up. WRONG. I need it more than you. I'm just as f*cked up as you are. If I explained what I had to do on a daily basis to get myself keyed up for the day... you wouldn't believe me.
So... Back To Reality
So, I'm going to work my butt off to make a full recovery. That is MY RESPONSIBILITY. So, I will show up to some choice events... as an Aquabiker. Make Note: If you are racing AB too, my goal is to turn myself inside out and go so hard on the bike that when I get to the bike dismount, or wherever the finish line is located, that I have ZERO LEFT IN THE TANK and which ultimately means giving my best effort on that day, which means I GOT BETTER THAT DAY. Yes, I would love to do the complete triathlon, but that's not in the cards at the moment. The most important thing is that I showed up. I surrounded myself with likeminded, goal oriented, focused and determined individuals on that day. I need you. We need each other. So, no matter what... show up.
