What's up everyone! DelMoSports has started off 2019 with a BANG and we are only beginning to warm up.
This time of the year marks LEARNING SEASON for us. We spend a significant amount of time and resources to gain as much knowledge and information heading into the 2019 season as possible. Let me enlighten you:
The Americas MYLAPS Conference, Jan 20-22, 2019: As many of you know, DelMoSports invested in MYLAPS Timing Technology in 2018 (we purchased the same exact equipment used to time 70.3 races around the world). We timed all of our events, flawlessly, and rolled out DelMoPRO this past January. When you make this type of an investment, you make damn sure you go to learn about what upgrades and enhancements are on the way. Additionally, you cannot put a price tag on the personal connection you have with a supplier/customer/athlete etc. To our surprise, while at the conference the president of MyLaps North America showed a slide on the screen of a company that does an amazing job of utilizing technology... DelMoSports. We were floored and honored. The MyLaps team is WORLD CLASS and we're excited to roll out some AMAZING NEW ENHANCEMENTS for you this season.
Triathlon Business International Conference, Jan 25-27, 2019: TBI is the gathering of the best business minds in the sport of triathlon; race directors, coaches, retailers, and industry experts. I remember my first TBI conference YEARS ago. I arrived knowing no one, and literally knowing nothing. Now, I run into friends and colleagues from around the country. I listen intently to learn what innovation is happening in the marketplace as well as what trends are occurring around the world in our sport. I'm humbled to say of all the incredibly talented and accomplished people in the room, the panelists frequently mention DelMoSpots as a leader in the industry. This year, we won the Best First Timers Triathlon Award for the Hand & Stone Women's Philadelphia Triathlon, a huge honor for any race let alone an inaugural event.
USA Triathlon Race Director Summit, Feb 1-3: The USATRD marks the first time (most) Team DelMo travels together. Here, Kristy and Rachel have officially become Certified Race Directors. The beauty of this conference is the team getting to know race directors from around the country and to learn what works for them in their environment. It's always amazing to chat it up with people that go through the same experiences you go through in order to learn more, get better, so you can be better.
Coming Up: Ironman Race Director Conference, February 19-21, 2019: This is where I get together with all of the IRONMAN race directors, operations personnel, marketing, and athlete services in North, Central, and South America. This is, WITHOUT QUESTION, the best gathering of race directors in the country. Collectively, we have serviced hundreds of thousands of athletes from all over the world and we get together... TO GET BETTER.
The questions is "Why do we share this information with you?" We share because we want you to know how much we care about you, how much we value you, how dedicated we are to getting better, and how passionate we are about making YOUR TIME the best investment you've made in 2019. Next time you attend any race, find some "important people" from the production crew. Ask them, "What are you doing to make sure we are safe?" "What are you doing to study and follow best practices in the world of endurance sports?" IT MATTERS, YOU MATTER, THIS IS MORE THAN JUST RACING. We do what we do because of our LOVE FOR YOU and OUR LOVE FOR THE SPORT. Enjoy your month. Smile. Be the best version of you, that you can be!
